As part of the coastal data project, SEAKFHP has compiled a data library in ArcGIS online. Over 200 different data products have been collected and organized within SEAKFHP’s ArcGIS online user group.
What is an ArcGIS Online group?
An ArcGIS online group allows ArcGIS Online users to access content that has been collected by the curator. Groups also allow for collaboration and data sharing.
SEAKFHP’s group is designed to facilitate data discovery for our partners. Inspired by the Southeast Alaska GIS Library, SEAKFHP’s online user group allows our partners easy access to regional data through the ESRI platform.
How can I utilize the group?
The user group is best utilized for data discovery and for use in ArcMap online mapping exercises and applications.
Rather than searching through thousands of records in ArcGIS online, keyword searched can be used to search the group. The group library is well-curated with frequent additions and updates; searching the group first may save you time later.
Membership in the group allows the user to quickly access layers from the group library in online and desktop mapping exercises. Being a member allows the user to quickly search and add layers and services to their own mapping projects.
How do I join the group?
Interested members can join the group by emailing our project associate, Khrystl Brouillette, at khrystl@sawcak.org with your organizational user name. At this time, ESRI only supports organizational level accounts becoming a member.
What if I don’t have an organizational account?
Users with public private level accounts can still view and access items from the group. Without membership, these items won’t be automatically integrated into your searchable groups in the online environment. Instead, non-member accounts can search for layers in the library and access them individually.
