Web Mapping Applications

As part of the coastal data project, SEAKFHP has been working with partners to create a variety of Web Mapping Applications. These are available through our user group, or the HUB site.

Our applications are designed as decision support tools for our partners. They combine available layers in a ready-to-use format to allow our partners to make spatially informed decisions about their restoration and stewardship activities.

WESPAK-SE

SEAKFHP, with assistance from the US Forest Service and the Southeast Alaska GIS library, has updated and rebuilt the The Wetland Ecosystems Services Protocol for Southeast Alaska (WESPAK-SE). This application is designed to assist the user in completion of the office form for prioritizing wetland management.

WESPAK-SE combines a variety of layers to inform timely wetland management. It also allows users to overlay their own data layers to produce a locally informed answer to office form questions.

WESPAK-SE can be accessed here.

Check out our handy user-guide below for detailed instructions on how to access and utilize the application.

Southeast Alaska Fish Passage Application

Still under construction, SEAKFHP has compiled data regarding road-stream crossings and other related data to inform future fish passage projects.

In support of this application, SEAKFHP has also created a google map of road-stream crossings across Southeast Alaska. Take a look, and see how many you cross on your way to work, school, or the grocery store!

A draft version of the full application is available and contains current road-stream crossing data, land ownership, anadromous waters data, and more!

SEAKFHP plans to produce more applications as needs arise. If you have questions about current applications, or an idea for something different, please email our project associate, Khrystl Brouillette, at khrystl@sawcak.org.
