Since 2014 SEAKFHP, with support through the National Fish Habitat Partnership Program (NFHP, www.fishhabitat.org), including engagement from other national Fish Habitat Partnerships, has sponsored fish related film festivals in association with American Fishery Society (AFS, www.fisheries.org ) meetings, at the Alaska Chapter (afs-alaska.org), Western Divisional level (wdafs.org) , and at the National level.
Sharing what we are learning through the use of film has proven to be an exceptional way to communicate advances in aquatic-related sciences and fisheries management, showcase ways communities are engaging in local fisheries and aquatic and terrestrial stewardship efforts, and capture the beauty and diversity of fish across Alaska (and across the US). Below is a collection to date of all the fish film festivals our partnership has sponsored. Click on each of the URLs below and you will find access to the films we shared.
We want to express our gratitude to all the folks involved in these films – we appreciate your efforts and are so glad you captured your work so we can help elevate it and encourage others to see and learn from it.
Grab some popcorn, sit back and enjoy!
